Walrus have begun to use Izembek NWR in recent years, most likely becasue changes in the Bering Sea due to climate change are shifting the locations and abundance of food resources. Large numbers of them haul out on the protected barrier isalnd that seperates Izembek Lagoon form the Bering Sea betwen foraging trips out to sea. Izembek NWR, Alaska. August.
